Music by Mark Pipas
Mark is a singer, musician, actor and composer who has performed extensively in nightspots of the U.S. and Europe. He is best known for his ever-changing show that includes a mixture of original and standard songs - backed by his powerful mastery of the guitar and piano - all blended with a touch of humor. Mark appeared on German National Television as a guest star on Horst Jankowski's "Swing & Talk," a live program broadcast from Berlin. When he is not on the road, Mark spends his time in Pittsburgh where he concentrates on writing, although he still finds the time to perform at several local nightspots.
While most of his time is spent writing songs for his show or for other artists, he also writes music for commercials, trade shows, and television. He composed and performed the "Ya Gotta Regatta" theme song for the Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta radio commercials, and recently completed music for the pilot episode of "ME TOO," a television series for children (Children's Education Group).
In addition to being a talented musician, Mark is also an accomplished actor. While still in high school, he was named "Outstanding Actor" by the Theater Guild of Mobile, Alabama. Later he studied theater at London University. He appeared on the NBC daytime series "Another World" and in the films "Smokey is the Bandit" and "Where the Boys are Now." Mark has also been seen in nationally- televised commercials for American Express and Paine Webber.
Mark was born in Chicago, but has traveled extensively ever since. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in political science from Florida State University.
However, he has never run for office--entertainment and music have kept him too busy.
